Strait Jacket 1979-1982

Strait Jacket was a Rock N’ Roll Clothing Store on Crescent Heights and Third long before Melrose exploded on the scene.  It was owned by myself, Jake Riviera who was the Manager for Elvis Costello and his then wife Designer Tony Riviera now Tony Laumer Sales.  We had amazing Vintage clothing from the 1950’s and 60’s and often we would embellish them with fabric and eye catching buttons.   We also did custom clothing for bands for Album covers and Videos.  We were one of the first stores to carry Black jeans, Beatle Boots and Creepers.  Some of our clients included Bruce Springsteen, Del Shannon, The Bangles, The Go-Go’s, The Plimsouls, Psychedelic Furs, Wall of Voodoo, X, Sparks, Elvis Costello and The Attractions, and Nick Lowe and Siouxsie Sioux.
